Holly House, 37 Shirleys, Ditchling
A peaceful, sunny and secluded garden of almost an acre, backing onto mixed woodland a mile due north of Ditchling Beacon. There are lawns, mature trees and borders, plus a sculpture by John Skelton. Warning: there is a swimming pool on the terrace so young children should be guarded.
Access: There is good wheelchair access and some parking space.
Refreshments: Homemade teas available and other stalls.
Admission: £3. Children free.
Directions: Shirleys is off the B2116. From Ditchling direction Shirleys is opposite the Recreation Ground. Ditchling BN6 8UD.
Due to the London to Brighton Bike Ride on Sunday The Ditchling Road is shut. To get to the garden it is best to approach from Hassocks/Keymer and go across the crossroads in the middle of Ditchling by the Bull Pub in the direction of Lewes, or approach via Spatham Lane. You may have to allow a little longer to get here.
