We  are recruiting for the following posts:-

Staff Nurse (Permanent and Bank Contracts)

£22,086-£26,175 p.a. (depending on experience), plus shift enhancements.

As a qualified RGN Staff Nurse you will also have experience or an interest in palliative care and care of the elderly.

Reporting to the Head of Nursing you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the nursing care of a named group of patients and ensuring that records are maintained in accordance with the NMC Guidelines’ Standards for Records and Record Keeping. You will also support the Sister in Charge of Nursing in the delivery of a high quality and cost effective service of patient care.

Responsibilities will include you working as a member of the ward team and supervising the nursing practice of junior members of staff. You will participate in ensuring patients are involved in all aspects of their care, and also that partners, friends and relatives are involved in care in accordance with the patient’s wishes.

You will treat each patient with dignity, respect and understanding, in accordance with the philosophy of St Peter and St James. You will be aware of unit procedures and policies and ensure they are carried out safely in accordance with agreed policies. With your excellent communication skills you will liaise with all patients, their families and hospice staff and comply with the NMC Professional Code of Conduct for Nurses, Health Visitors and Midwives at all times.

Personal objectives will be agreed between yourself and the Team Leader and you will be responsible for maintaining your own professional development. This may result in the need for you to attend training courses from time to time, some of which will be mandatory.

Both full time (37.5 hrs) and part time contracts will be considered for this role.

Shifts available include: early, late, twilight and night shifts.

Due to our location you must have your own transport.

Health Care Assistant (Bank Contracts)

£7.50 per hour plus shift enhancements.

As a Health Care Assistant you will provide care to our patients and their families in all aspects of daily living. Experience of work in a palliative care setting is desirable but not essential.

Finance & Payroll Assistant

£23,182.00 p.a. (£11,746.00 pro-rata) 19 hrs per week over preferably 4 or 5 days.

With experience of using Sage Payroll this role includes validating timesheets for the payroll, pension auto enrolment processes, BACS payments as well as the inputting and processing of purchase ledger, sales ledger and nominal ledgers as required.

The successful candidate should also have good IT skills to include email, Word and Excel, be flexible, have good communication skills, be a team player and have an excellent eye for detail.

Clinical Nurse Specialist

Up to £37,665.00 per annum (depending on skills and experience) Full time, permanent.

Are you a highly motivated nurse with demonstrable experience in palliative care either in a hospital or community setting?

Do you thrive on teamwork and have the passion to support people living with life limiting illness?

If so, joining our well established team of Community Clinical Nurse Specialists could be the job for you! Our team of six Clinical Nurse Specialists provide advice, support and liaison for people in East and West Sussex helping to plan their care and support and ensure the provision of expertise around specialist symptom control and emotional and psychological support for patients and those important to them. They are supported by our Lead Consultant.

You should possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team as well as on your own initiative. You will be a key link between the Hospice and our primary and acute care providers.

In return, we offer professional development opportunities and regular clinical supervision.

Charity Shop Manager – Burgess Hill

£17,395.00 p.a. 37.5 hrs p/w including Saturdays.

Preferably with good Charity Shop management experience you will have plenty of drive and enthusiasm, a flair for display and a focus on customer service. You will be able to manage and work with our volunteers to help maximise profits, all of which go to support the work of the Hospice.

You will also have good IT skills to include email, Word and Excel, be flexible, be a people person and happy to go the extra mile.

The role is subject to an enhanced DBS check and you will also need your own reliable transport as you will be required to visit the Hospice to select items to sell in your shop.
