We  are recruiting for the following posts:-

Staff Nurse (Permanent and Bank Contracts)

£22,086-£26,175 p.a. (depending on experience), plus shift enhancements.

As a qualified RGN Staff Nurse you will also have experience or an interest in palliative care and care of the elderly.

Reporting to the Head of Nursing you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the nursing care of a named group of patients and ensuring that records are maintained in accordance with the NMC Guidelines’ Standards for Records and Record Keeping. You will also support the Sister in Charge of Nursing in the delivery of a high quality and cost effective service of patient care.

Responsibilities will include you working as a member of the ward team and supervising the nursing practice of junior members of staff. You will participate in ensuring patients are involved in all aspects of their care, and also that partners, friends and relatives are involved in care in accordance with the patient’s wishes.

You will treat each patient with dignity, respect and understanding, in accordance with the philosophy of St Peter and St James. You will be aware of unit procedures and policies and ensure they are carried out safely in accordance with agreed policies. With your excellent communication skills you will liaise with all patients, their families and hospice staff and comply with the NMC Professional Code of Conduct for Nurses, Health Visitors and Midwives at all times.

Personal objectives will be agreed between yourself and the Team Leader and you will be responsible for maintaining your own professional development. This may result in the need for you to attend training courses from time to time, some of which will be mandatory.

Both full time (37.5 hrs) and part time contracts will be considered for this role.

Shifts available include: early, late, twilight and night shifts.

Due to our location you must have your own transport.

An exceptionally exciting opportunity has become available to join the Retail Team of St Peter & St James Hospice Shops Ltd.

Following the decision by the current manager to relocate out of the area we are looking to recruit a new dynamic and ambitious Charity Shop Manager to manage our fantastic ‘Furniture and Home’ Charity Shop based in Lewes.

If you are a self-motivated individual with a commitment to turning donations into vital funds, which enable us to provide exceptional care for our patients, then we would love to hear from you.

This is more than an ordinary retail opportunity. In this role you can combine your passion for retail and your commitment to making a difference, which will give you a unique sense of job satisfaction!

Preferably with good Charity Shop management experience you will have plenty of initiative and enthusiasm, a flair for display and a drive to reach and exceed your sales targets. You will also be able to manage and work with our volunteers and have a focus on providing exceptional customer service.

You will need to have good IT skills to include email, Word and Excel, be flexible, be a people person and happy to go the extra mile.

As our shops raise funds for our Hospice Care, it is vital that they are performing at their best. We are therefore looking for a dedicated individual with the passion and energy to maintain these high standards.

 

The role is subject to an enhanced DBS check and you will also need your own reliable transport as you will be required to visit the Hospice to select items to sell in your shop.

Clinical Information Administrator (Data)

£14,661.00 p.a. (30 hrs per week over 4 days Mon-Thur).  

An exciting and rare opportunity has become available to come and work for us in the role of Clinical Information Administrator (Data).

Reporting to the Head of Nursing & Clinical Care you will work with clinical teams in the day to day input and update of patient data using the Hospice Patient Record Systems (SystmOne), and produce timely and accurate reports on our patient data.

The main duties and responsibilities of the role will include the processing of clinical documentation, including referrals and updating patient data on SystmOne in a timely manner. You will act as the SystmOne resource within the Trust and oversee management of the SystmOne database including troubleshooting, training, induction, planning and software updates. You will be fully conversant with and follow Information Governance policies, ensuring that data quality, retention and data sharing is in accordance with associated legislation and safeguarding patient and service user information is in line with Caldicott principles.

Other duties include producing standard clinical reports and data analyses for non-clinical departments and management as well as liaising with other agencies as required, as part of the process of ensuring that patient information is current and accurate.

Where required you will handle telephone calls from patients or their relatives with sensitivity and ensure that patient record documentation is checked for accuracy and filed appropriately.

If you have a head for data collation and analysis, are well-organised and pro-active as well as diplomatic, calm under pressure and have a good telephone manner, this could be the job for you. You will need to have excellent administration and computer skills including Word, Excel and Outlook. Knowledge of clinical administration systems, whilst not essential, would be highly advantageous.

Community Fundraiser

£22,424.00 p.a. (37.5 hrs per week Mon-Fri).  

We have a new and exciting opportunity for an additional experienced Community Fundraiser to join our successful community fundraising team.

Your role will include initiating, building, developing and managing fundraising relationships with new and existing supporters in the community to maximise and sustain income through community fundraising. This role focuses specifically on developing support and partnership from across our catchment area.

Reporting to the Events & Community Manager you will develop and deliver compelling fundraising activities for these groups to participate in including following up approaches on the phone and face to face to maximise income in order to reach agreed income targets.

You will also undertake research in order to maximise fundraising opportunities, identifying possible targets, making appropriate fundraising approaches and all necessary follow-up. Responding to enquiries from supporters wishing to find out more about fundraising for the hospice in the community is also a main element of the role.

Using your exceptional customer service skills you will represent the hospice at all events, identify potential corporate partners to match them to relevant hospice fundraising products, and securing auction items, raffle prizes and additional gifts in kind from relevant organisations

Preferably with fundraising experience or knowledge of how local fundraising processes work you will have excellent communication and customer service skills together with a good level of computer and office skills
