Star Walk 2016

Making memories shine bright

This year we have revamped our annual night walk to enable as many people as possible (including families) to take part in memory of a loved one and help us to raise much needed funds for St Peter & St James Hospice.

Our shiny 10km Star Walk will set off slightly earlier at 10.30pm and there is an additional 2km route around Victoria Park, for those with little legs.

Dress up in sparkles and glitter, get together with your family and friends and join us for the biggest fundraising night in the Hospice’s calendar!

Everyone taking part will get:

  • a finisher’s memento
  • delicious breakfast
  • PLUS a special star lantern to carry and light up the route

The entry money covers the cost of the event, so we really do encourage everyone taking part to raise additional sponsorship money. This year anyone raising over £100 will be entered into a draw to win an amazing prize.*

The money you raise is vital to help us provide specialist care and support to local people and their families when they need us most. Thank you!

ENTRY INFORMATION

  • One online form must be completed per entrant
  • Children aged 16 years or younger MUST be accompanied by a responsible adult for the entire night
  • Entrants with a disability are welcome, please call us to discuss the route beforehand
  • If you are assisting a person with a disability, there is no entry fee, but you must complete an entry form.
  • Entry fees are £18/adult and £5/child until Friday 1 July
  • All entry forms must be received by Friday 1 July
  • Entry fees are £25/adult and £10/child to register on the night (cash only)
  • Entry fees are non-refundable
  • All walkers are encouraged to raise further sponsorship – information in entry pack.

* Entry to the Prize Draw is open to everyone submitting over £100 of sponsorship by the Wednesday 31 August 2016*

Star Marshals – We Need You!

This fantastic event can only happen thanks to all the amazing volunteers who help on the night. Can you spare a few hours to help us marshal the route at our Star Walk this year?

Our Star Marshals play a vital role- ensuring that walkers along the 10km route know where they are going and feel supported.

Every marshal receives breakfast & coffee and a Star Walk 2016 memento - plus you’ll be part of an amazing event and helping us raise funds for the Hospice!

Star Marshals need to be:

  • Available between 9.30pm - 1am on Saturday 9th July (yes we know it’s a little late / early - but it’s for a good cause)
  • 18 years or older & have a mobile phone
  • Able to get to the Dolphin Leisure Centre in Haywards Heath and ideally have their own car (useful but not essential)
  • All marshals will work in pairs - so ideally volunteer with a friend - or we can match you with someone in advance.
